Beer Donut Holes with Cinnamon Sugar
Recipe:
1 1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp baking powder
Sprinkle of cinnamon
2 Tbsp milk (almond, soy, or juice) 1 egg
2 Tbsp oil
1/4 cup beer
1 - 2 cups oil for frying
Cinnamon sugar:
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and cinnamon in a bowl, stir to combine. Add the milk, egg, oil, and beer. Mix with a fork to combine, then use your hands to mix well, and bring it together into a sticky dough.
Heat a deep fryer or 3 qt pot with oil, and using oiled hands, drop small balls of dough into the hot oil, the donut holes will double in size. Fry for about 4 to 5 minutes until golden, moving them around into the pot for even frying.
Let drain on a cooling rack over a baking pan, or over paper towels.
While still warm, roll into cinnamon sugar.
Yields: 18 doughnuts
