Recipe:

1 1/4 cup flour

1/4 cup sugar

1 tsp baking powder

Sprinkle of cinnamon

2 Tbsp milk (almond, soy, or juice) 1 egg

2 Tbsp oil

1/4 cup beer

1 - 2 cups oil for frying

Cinnamon sugar:

1/4 cup sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and cinnamon in a bowl, stir to combine. Add the milk, egg, oil, and beer. Mix with a fork to combine, then use your hands to mix well, and bring it together into a sticky dough.

Heat a deep fryer or 3 qt pot with oil, and using oiled hands, drop small balls of dough into the hot oil, the donut holes will double in size. Fry for about 4 to 5 minutes until golden, moving them around into the pot for even frying.

Let drain on a cooling rack over a baking pan, or over paper towels.

While still warm, roll into cinnamon sugar.

Yields: 18 doughnuts
